CI2312 reflection on readings and video

I found this weeks topic very intriguing. The video was especially interesting to me. I had never thought of this being a reason as to why it is more difficult for older people to understand the digital world. It makes sense when you think about it, it is like trying to learn a foreign language for them. We were immersed in technology and the digital world at a very young age, just like our native language, so me are natives to the digital world. The readings were also of interest, especially “The Internet and Youth Culture” article. It was very interesting how they described how natives of the technology world are much more likely to immerse themselves in technology and try to grow using all the benefits of it, as opposed to older generations are just mere consumers of the products. This has caused some social anxiety and people skills to laps in our generation, however, we have so many tools and knowledge at our disposal with just the click of a few buttons that one may argue that being social awkward is a fair price to pay.
